There was a huge concrete pour at the Mack Urban site yesterday. Grand Ave was closed south of 11th from early morning until the evening. The crane still looks like that little stubby that I posted a few pages back. This project is moving fast.

Speaking of moving fast, the fastest moving is obviously the tower at hope/9th. I know that it didn't have to dig deep because it won't have underground parking, but it's already way past projects like the two towers on 8th/Spring. And one of those broke ground over a year ago.

Circa has begun installing the curtain wall panels on the podium.

Metropolis has revealed the exterior finishes of the hotel tower. I'm not sure how to feel about the dark exterior finish, it might be the waterproofing membrane for all I know.

and the work in progress of the Wilshire Grand ground levels.

No photos for ya, but I passed by earlier today. The western tower (755 S. Spring) is two floors above ground. The eastern tower (732 S. Spring) hasn't sprouted above ground yet.

@ThebiteofSuarez

Great update, thanks! I think Circa's glass panels look pretty good so far, although I'll reserve full judgment until we see more of it. I'm really, really worried about that massive parking podium though. There's very little margin for error.

That's why I post some of these pictures into the tower threads.
It's just unbelievable.

Curtain wall on Circa is surprisingly really nice. In fact, comparing it to the official renders, it looks like they might have actually upgraded the design from what was originally revealed from spandrel glass to a full curtain wall.

Great updates, everyone! Ten50 is turning out really nicely, and the glass on Circa is very promising. 2017 is going to be a really big year for downtown. You'll be able to take shots from October 2016 and October 2017, and the skyline will be appreciably different.

No problem! I had some free time on my way to brunch and ultimately decided to take a walk around. That being said, it's nearly impossible to cover all the DTLA development in one sweep now. It's amazing.

Oh man, that rooftop lounge is going to be amazing. Especially considering that for the time being, those westward views will be protected by South Park Lofts and the parking garage.

I welcome our Canadian overlords to develop more in and around DTLA.

Also this is just me thinking out-loud but when will someone buy 611 Place and re-purpose it as a mixed hotel/condo building? If for no other reason than to put that building into better use as it's virtually empty right now.
