I noticed some kind of gray cladding or coating on the north side concrete near the top this morning (11-5). Looks much better than the bare poured material. Lets hope they continue on the entire exposed north side pour. Not safe for a photo. If someone is in that direction, please share one.

Interesting that they’d go out of their way to make it look like poured concrete, albeit a hell of a lot cleaner. I think a color that’s darker than the glass might have looked better, but I guess we’ll see how this goes.
Over the course of a recent week, four transfer beams — made of steel and encased in concrete — were installed just below the ninth floor of the structure. While that may sound underwhelming and par for the course when constructing a 51-story duel-brand hotel, the dimensions of the beams are certain to impress. Consider that three of the beams were 7 feet wide, 12 feet deep and 45 feet long and weighed 567,000 pounds and one was 6 feet wide, 12 feet deep and 45 feet long and weighed 486,000 pounds. To give that some context, a typical school bus is 45 feet long though that vehicle weighs just a fraction of the beams that were used.
^^^^^^^^when was that written? My guess is they are there to allow clear spans for a ball room or some other large rooms

Forgive my ignorance on this building, but how does a hotel have one side of the building be windowless?
Just imagine a rectangle divided in half by a corridor rooms on both sides , each room has a outward facing window .The end rooms also have outward facing windows no need for windows on the sides . Not so aesthetically pleasing

Only about a third of the north side width is windowless. Most of that would be accounted for by the elevator bank.

Welp. Can someone please confirm there's additional steel going up on the crown? Because if not, the north face's concrete monster will also be prominent from the south.

interesting, judging by the placement of the W on the southside it looks to be maxed out, hadn't noticed that concrete to the west from that vantage point until you mentioned it but that will make the finished product look different/less interesting than the renders
