A sensible politician would hold the owner accountable for relocating the residents and perhaps investing a fee into the affordable housing trust.
Agreed. And from what I’ve read, it sounds like the developer has been doing everything possible to assist the residents, including covering moving costs and finding new accommodations. My biggest pet peeve is when you try to do the right thing, but people end up screwing you anyways...

From what I’ve read too something like 70% of residents were fine with moving.

Not to make light of the inconvenience and other disruptions of displacement, But I can see how people living in a townhouse at that location might find it less than attractive.

Will someone please tell PhillyYimby that the W/Element Hotel is NOT located "…at the former site of One Meridian Plaza…". Also the headline raises the question of what, if anything, has opened in the retail space. The article doesn't address that question, except to say "…has opened its final section to the public with the completion of its retail portion."

Now with that being said, I agree with you the pandemic couldn't even slow down the upward trajectory of growth in Philly, Shit people still wanted to construct during the first days of the lockdown.

it goes to note that it always gets worse before it gets better too, so we should be seeing things calm down in this decade and Philly really grow & get away from the 80's.

It's amazing to see how much has changed in 5-10 years as this pace we will be NY 2.0

My Roommate got a drone. I've posted some photos for specific projects in their respective threads but here are some that didn't make the cut:

Are they referring to the restaurant Dolce or another space?

TK, I appreciate your contributions, especially your photos. I like your enthusiasm. I like visiting your site for the news on smaller projects that aren't covered on other sites. You've gotten some interviews and access that have provided interesting updates.

That said, you have crossed over from random poster to journalist so accuracy is vital. You sometimes make factual errors that would be caught with double checking before publishing.

It would be great to get some drone pics of Piazza Square progress.
Pics posted are tight and hard to see

He's been doing some work in the area, so I'll ask him to get some shots next time he's out there.

I mean. It's not so serious. I love Yimby. I'm sure it's a side hustle slash hobby so everyone just chill. Nobody was harmed in the making of that blog, which I've come to read only second to this one.

I disagree. It isn't written like a blog (see: OCF's NakedPhilly). It's written with much more serious and journalistic language.

And it very well may be doing harm. As discussed in the Lowrise thread, they recently published an article with the wrong address and name for a project. If I Google "The Beverly Apartments Philly", that article is the top hit. A prospective tenant might click on that article, and see the wrong rendering and description.

+1.

He's one of the biggest contributors in our sub-forum. Let's not chase him away by being unnecessarily critical of his work.

I’m not attacking TK specifically; he’s made it clear that he puts out good work that often gets tied up in edits and misleading headlines. He also takes some quality, regularly uploaded photos.

My ire is directed towards the editorial staff at YIMBY.

You can't be serious, can you? If you can't find the correct address to a building with a simple google search or you know, from your landlord, then you have other problems.

I don't think that's the issue, when you're a journalist your job is to provide good correct information for the subscriber. Yes mistakes happen however multiple over many articles is a little alarming.

We have noticed inconsistencies across many threads from articles on this Forum from YIMBY, even some you have pointed out Brown.

So no I think it's more of constructive criticism for TK because we all love Philly Yimby & his work.
