Alomar’s was big, but it only tied the score in game 4 of a 7 game series. Important, yes, but not a singular game changing home run.

Also I guess the question for me is by biggest home run, does Surrealplaces mean, the most important or most memorable?
One could make an argument that Spring and Bautista's were maybe more important, because they were trailing and if they don't hit those home runs, the series end, whereas it's possible that if Carter and Alomar don't hit the home runs, maybe the Jays still win.
For me most memorable will always be Carter. Probably Springer and Bautista as well. Alomar's was certainly an important home run. Not as memorable as the others, but very important for sure.

I think considering Carter's was a bottom of the 9th home run, his was the closest to "if he doesn't hit it, they will probably lose the game". That said, it was game 6 and they still would have had game 7. Springer and Bautista, there was still time left in those respective games for the Jays to rally if those home runs weren't hit, but those were series finale games regardless. Encarnacion was a one game, winner take all, loser's season ends matchup. 11th inning but it was still tied so if he doesn't walk it off, the Jays still have the 12th. But something to be said for a walk off home run to advance in the playoffs. I realize all of this goes against my earlier statement about Alomar being number 2, but I don't care, there are still arguments all the way around. The Jays had never won anything in the playoffs until that year and that was the turning point of that series. But I also think "Timlin, to Carter" was the bigger World Series moment than "Touch em all Joe" because that was the first.

I would go with the obvious; Carter first and Springer second ranking post season Blue Jays home runs.

The biggest home runs to me was Alomars against Eckersley in the ALCS and Sprague against Reardon in the World Series as they pave the way to the first playoff series wins.

Bad timing. IIRC, 1985 was the first time the ALCS was a 7 game series with all previous being 5 game series. Same with the 2021 team just missing the Wild Card game with postseason expansion in the books for 2022. That team would have made it far in the postseason.

Encarnacion home run underrated.

Bautista's home run kinda overshadowed by the Rangers' three consecutive errors. Plus, the series ending walk-off error the next season. I always think about the errors more than that home run.

Tonight's the Night | World Series Game #1 at SkyDome | Blue Jays vs Dodgers

The World Series is back in Canada!

The game might be sold out, but what about the CN Tower? It would be kind neat to see the World Series from above.

I believe the observation is open until 9pm and the game starts at 8pm. (Would be nice if they could change that temporarily and keep it open for the duration of the games)

I dare one of you Torontonians without tickets to the game to go up and take a pic of the World Series in action from above.

Where did you get that photo? It's ancient lol. The Matrix condos haven't started which means it dates from at least 1998, if not before..

The dome will probably be closed today anyway as the high is only like 10 degrees.

Edit: the Spadina streetcar line is there, so that means it's post 1997 and pre-Matrix construction in 1999.. so 1998 is probably a good guess.

It says it's from January 2005, but that could be a mistake?

I remember dining at 360 one night many years while a Jays game was in progress below. (n.b., one can only see the Dome through the glass floor of the observation deck or from the Skypod, as above, not from the restaurant.) Kind of wild to be 1,100 ft above 50,000 fans and a baseball game.

Jays Win!

Video Link

That 6th inning was absolutely unreal. Most runs in a single inning since 1962.

Barger reminds me a bit of Matt Stairs... first pinch hit grand slam in the history of the World Series!

Truly, a historic night.

Something awesome about our Hall Of Fame AL East rivals sitting there talking how great and under rated the Jays are.

This is the best ball game i have ever watched, 11:00pm on the Westcoast, into the 16th inning, any Torontonians calling in sick this morning?

I work nights so I'm fine, but I'm tired after a long day of drinking. (off day)
We're in the bottom of the 17th.....this game has been absolutely insane.

6 hours and counting, and no one has scored since the 7th inning....we're tied for 5 - 5

Ironically, the guy who plays for Canada, to honour his mother, because she was so proudly Canadian, hits the homer to kill the Jays in the bottom of the 18th

Yeah that was....annoying, but I was waiting for anyone to hit a homer and get either team over.

Great game. I went to bed after the ninth inning. I'm glad I did because it would have still been going after 3 AM here on the east coast.

We're behind the eight ball now. Ohtani is inhuman, and Freeman is up to his usual post-season heroics. Meanwhile Springer is hurting and Bichette is no where near 100%. It's going to be a tough road from here on it.

Still, it's been a great ride.
