Yeah, it's hard to tell from the diagrams if they are steel or concrete.
But I also noticed from the photos that there seem to be significant attachment points on the core so was wondering whether the designs have changed so that the cubes will hang off the core rather than off of mega columns.
I guess it's wait and see.

Hey! I was right.
The mega columns will be steel - those look like nuts under the tape.

Pics by me today.

Exciting to see steel going up. This thing is going to soar once they find their rhythm. A residential steel frame building is going up near me in Kelowna and it's remakable how fast it's going up.

Thanks!
A bit anticlimactic for a "mega-column".

410 W Georgia

Structure is going up quickly. Looking forward to seeing this take shape over the coming months. Took this picture this morning.

the floor plate seems like an interesting way to get a lot more of the coveted corner office suites.

Except that the floorplates do not allow enough space for conventional hallways and adjacent workstations
- so the tenants are pretty much forced into open plan layouts or awkward layouts for at least parts of the floors.
On the sample floorplan below, the offices are very small.
... and some of the cubes have solid green walls to prevent overlook into other offices.

Man, those floorplates are awkward. There will be space planners up all night developing ulcers trying to make this work.

In another bizzarro floorplan move, on levels 2, 3 and 4, the washrooms
will be standard rectangles next to the core (instead of expanding to the windows),
creating a very long wedge of unuseable office space.

Wow, as if the original floorplans weren't laughable enough.

Nice updates McMinsen. I was looking at these updates on SRC, and I thought they were from you at first. You both have the same vantage points.
