Back Aug 30 2016 they said they were over 75% sold (so over 202 units of the 269 available)

http://news.buzzbuzzhome.com/2016/08...-hamilton.html

so 7 months later with sales trickling in a say 4 per month... that would take you to 230 units or north of 85%.

Exactly when does one pull the trigger and actually start construction. The mere presence of activity on site would push sales to the 100% mark.

I guess you would have to go back to the August 2016 statement ...

I hope we can put this one to bed soon, dishonestly giving us a giant hole in the ground for next winter with no intention of building further for another year will hurt.

If anyone follows joey coleman on twitter you'll see he is tweeting some very telling facts (not good ones) with regards to this project.

But between 101 locke, cannaught, william thomas, acclamation and the development on george street its doing alright.

Hopefully a situation like stanton is the exception and not the norm in hamilton!

So basically the thing that all of us were predicting up to 2 years ago ended up happening. Not much of a surprise.

The City ought to be ashamed of itself. They don't, I'm sure. In fact, I don't think they're capable.

The city should check out developer's financial situation before approving to build 30 storey condo tower.

Yeah it doesn't look good on Farr.

Anyone know with the project in receivership how easy it is for another developer to come in and take over with regards to all the permits?

Also the Durand association is pretty nuts. Build nothing high anywhere. This project would have minimal effects on Durand residents considering its location, plus it is right by the GO station where density should be encouraged.

Farr definitely has some explaining to do to his constituents, and to the people who bought into this place in particular. Back in April when Stanton declared the Mimico on the GO condos bankrupt, he said he had reassurances that this project was not in trouble. Then yesterday he claimed he hasn't talked to the developer in a year. Exactly who gave him that reassurance back in April?

Precisely what I was thinking when I read that.

having a church facade for a condo made me feel a bit uneasy anyways.. feel sacreligious somehow.. I mean I know that people make houses out of churches but still..

Hopefully something good comes from this lot! They will probably demolish the remnants of the church and put something modern up. I don't care as long as something is done with this space..
