And we'll eventually get another set of twin 27sih storey blank walls in that parking lot. And unless the Ottawa Little Theatre and uOttawa Res gets redeveloped, that will be it. If they do get redeveloped, we'll have a solid 84 meter tall city block.

I'm not seeing much consistency between the renders and reality in terms of materials, but it's not looking too bad so far. The space between the towers is definitely welcome..

The black paneled window trim is Soho Italia-esque. Very promising. I have always thought of Moon and Royale as two peas in the same charcoal brick pod, but maybe Royale will turn out much better.

I think it looks a lot like Moon. This may be Claridge's new hospital yellow brick of the 2000s, or grey metal paneling of the 2010s. This may be what we see on all Claridge buildings for the next decade.

Update June 10, 2022

Up to the 10th floor

Looks like the facade facing Rideau of the shorter tower will be all glass. My expectation for this project were low but so far, I'm happily surprised that what is being built looks better then what was presented in the renderings.

I'm very cautiously optimistic about this project. I really thought we were getting giant walls of my beloved charcoal brick.

Looking great so far. Hopefully we see more glass and less panelling. Really love watching Rideau finally density.

there's a lot of unsold units left for this one, especially 2br units.

might be a sign of a slowdown in condoland.

Not sure. They have been for sale for a long time even when the market was very hot. The prices are much higher than current markets. Given interest rates will be much higher when you close next summer seems very risky buying there now.

Yeah, $700K-$800K for a 2bdr is quite steep.

Plus, that location is not for everyone.

They haven't made much progress on the windows recently but I did a walk around of the entire building and you can get an idea of how the glazing will be.

It seems decent so far. Nothing award winning but decent nonetheless.

Between the terrible architecture, lot line to lot line buildings and no variation in heights, that it was god awful corner of the City.

Hopefully something with a different t style/height goes in the two parking lots (LCBO and across the street) to kinda, sorta fix this.

I don't think anything can be built higher between King Edward and Sussex, there is a height restriction. The Market is destined to be the next tabletop.
