I just realized they lost the big mature tree on Main Street at the corner of Georgia. It was still there when the construction was already half completed during the summer. That's too bad, but it does look like they planted a couple of small new ones.
Did you get any photos of what is happening with E Georgia St beside this building?
When I walked by there the other evening, I saw that essentially they had carved out an entire street (2-lane wide) with proper curb/gutter and sidewalk south of the building leading to the back alley beside the substation behind. There are couple of CRUs fronting the narrow street.

Not much happening. I went by today and took these pics. They've cleared out some of the equipment and porta-potties from the fenced in area just west of Main Street but other than that it's pretty well the same as my previous pics a couple of months ago.

Yes, they've planted some smaller new trees to replace the big one they took out. The big old tree at the other end of the block is still there (see last pic).

Thanks for the update. From the looks of the north side of the street it looks like you may be able to drive through here eventually. What is the ramp thing they have built on the south half of the street?
that's the 'stub' of the original Georgia Viaduct's east ramp
Interesting. And I'll bet those are remnants of trolley car tracks you can see in the second and third pics below. In the archival pic that officedweller posted (looking the other way) you can see what seems to be the mangled remains of some tracks.

The existing raised planter next to the substation seems to approximate the elevation of the bridge approach.

Why is it still there though? Those reinforcing concrete blocks seem to look new. You would think they would level it like they did with the other half of the street
Also I don't get why in the next block over half the street is closed off for what looks like 3 hydro poles. I know the substation there but it seems a little odd.
