Was out to Niagara Falls this earlier this month. Spent a bit of time getting a few different angles to make a timelapse using my GoPro.

Had an awesome trip into the front ranges today. We went for a little hike at Bow Falls!

Oh jeez, well, thanks. I dunno if that's appropriate though

But with all of the swearing and and tampon things I say, I probably shouldn't be talking about what's appropriate.

Pisew Falls Northern Manitoba...yeah I know the name is odd
Northern MB. Is pretty rugged, not to many people head this far north in the province.Try it someday! Worth the trip.

Yeah, that’s Elbow Falls - Elbow Falls on the Elbow River and Bow Falls on the Bow River - and ho-lee-crap has there ever been a lot of damage upriver from the falls! It looks like the whole picnic area is gone, and has the river channel shifted to the south as well?

Yes, the picnic area is completely gone. Sections of the former path are strewn about the debris. The river has moved 40+ feet to the south, a small section of the former picnic area survived as an island, with a couple trees on it.

That’s pretty shocking. I’m going to have to get out there and have a look for myself. Thanks for the pictures, btw. I don’t find you “hot”, I’m afraid, but I sure appreciate your pictures!

haha, thankfully, most guys on here don't

It was shocking to see even with never having been there before the disaster. My bf was really quite shocked to see it though, he kept saying "holy shit, look at that", "holy shit, there's a piece of the path", "holy shit, no East Indian families bbqing in the picnic area" etc... hahaha

That's true. There always seemed to be a lot of new immigrant families out there. It's close to Calgary and yet very different from Calgary and probably very different from their home countries.

No personal slight intended, btw. I don’t find you hot primarily because you’re the wrong gender for me.

Did you stop at Allen Bill Pond on the way? Do you happen to know if the back road into Bragg Creek is open yet? I haven’t been down into Discovery Ridge since the flood either. Clearly I must plan a sightseeing trip in that direction.

No we didn't stop anywhere. We only took the main roads so I don't know about the back road into Bragg Creek, but in mid-July it was still closed.

I did get some shots of the bridge that was destroyed by the flood of the Elbow though. They have built a temporary one-lane bridge for tourists, so that Kananaskis can still be accessible.

The eastern approach to the bridge was eroded about 100 feet east of where the bridge connected to solid ground.

Photos by me.
