Licensing bicycles by wheel diameter must be on any agenda before we waste more tax money.

I must have missed it when you condemned building the Henday or upgrading the yellowhead without raising vehicle fees.

How about we take that $75 fee that's apparently good enough for a 6000lb Expedition and pro-rate for the typical $20lb bike, then round to the nearest dollar. You know what we get?

$0

That's right.

A fair registration fee for a bike is zero dollars.
Got any more brilliant ideas to make things fair?

Taiwan, mostly. Japanese, Taiwanese, and yes, Chinese parts.

Incidentally, import duties on almost all bicycles (besides US, mexico and a few other countries that few bikes come from) are twice as high as duties on cars from the same countries. And a much larger portion of cars come from NAFTA countries so are not taxed but are more often subsidized.

We're paying our share, if that's what you're asking.

does anyone know how to suggest edits to google maps bicycle paths?

there is a pretty big problem with the map near where i live and following it almost killed me( exaggeration but it was quite the ordeal)

basically the path is located wrong and needs to be moved over a couple dozen meters, the current path is a death trap.

edit: NM i figured it out. i hope the fixes go through, nobody should make the same mistake i made taking that death trap.

Some other routes are not accurate as well, such as the 102 Avenue bike lane - not shown as separated, only shared on road.

The past week I've been using the new 102ave lane quite regularly. In fact, I can get from my garage to downtown, or even to Sugar Bowl for that matter across the river, on 100% bike lanes now. It's awesome. And for the fairweather cyclists like my wife, it is a godsend. We biked downtown for a drink on Sat. evening and she was 100% comfortable and confident with the infrastructure she was riding on.

Those are the stories we need more of... perhaps an interview is in order.

Not a bad idea - it may encourage others to bike.

Road to Glenora last night at hour, amazing how much faster/efficient biking was. The 102Ave bikeway is fantastic. 15mins from 105/99ave-102ave-132st.

Biked back and then headed south across the river to connect on 83ave and over to Whyte/Gateway. 20mins from 102ave/132st-82ave/gateway

^Do you know if the City has any plans to extend the 100 Ave bike lanes westward to Victoria Promenade? Quite inconvenient how they end at 110 St., and the next set up protected lanes is up at 102 Ave. 100 Ave is quite busy, and the most direct way to cycle to the Promenade from Downtown.

Longer term, yes. Not budgeted at this point.
