This is not really about a single zoning case, nor is it petty.

Sounds like Adelaide Metcalfe is trying to intertwine the medical centre utility servicing with continued servicing and new developments. Strathroy offered to service the medical centre if they dropped the legal action, but Adelaide Metcalfe wanted to have their cake and eat it too so declined.

Committee recommends City hire an external consultant to review Ward boundaries. Interesting population numbers by Ward in report.

Breaking News: Urban Design Advisory Panel doesn't support it being dissolved.

https://lfpress.com/news/local-news/...-design-review

Like many of the advisory committees at City Hall they accomplish little but delay and adding costs for clerical help to document the agenda and minutes. Bureaucracy breeds additional bureaucracy it seems. Many times the minutes of these advisory committees consist of accepting the previous meeting minutes and announcing the resignation and acceptance of new members to replace them. They might decide they need an advisory committee to study the pros and cons of advisory committees next.

Cops always want more money. Always. Always more than the inflationary rate. Firemen too.

Water and sewer rates to rise over the next 4 years. Of note water consumption in London has actually decreased over the last 10 years due to conservation efforts but population growth will reverse that trend in the forecast.

Our neighbours to the south in St Thomas set their property tax with a 2.98% increase yesterday.

Their city council will likely shame the city of London and other municipalities in the region.

Interesting LFP article on assessment growth in London and Area in 2023.

Properties are still being taxed on 2016 MPAC assessed values as the 2020 update was cancelled due to the pandemic. No announcement yet when the update will be rescheduled.
