Going to a bar? That sounds pretty lazy when you could be at home instead of having someone pour your drinks FOR YOU.

Oh I'm sure they're not...but it was my first time going there. First impression is everything with restaurants. I would have nothing good to say about Earl's, Moxies' etc etc either if I had similar treatment.

Yeah, I think they just closed the deal. When I read about the A-zone getting their building, I thought at first it was the old Royal Albert building.

Is that still empty? or was it all?

Not sure this has already been mentioned, but the third restaurant space in the former McDonalds on Portage is going to be a Chinese restaurant (buffet lunch?)

So, Harveys - Pizza Pizza - Chinese.
Burger, Pizza, Chinese.

The perfect trio.

The sign is up now. The Chinese place is called Azalea. I think they applied for a liquor license too.

Nope, in the building north of the Ashdown parkade, across from Alive (could be good for business?) and not far from the Exchange Cafe.

http://g.co/maps/a3mys

All fall they were busy filling in the walkway that goes "through" the building (to the right in the photo). I guess that was just making space for Boon Burger.

Awesome to hear.

Why?

I found their food pretty mediocre. Mostly just reheated or deep fried Sysco frozen "food", few fresh ingredients and your typical greasy spoon breakfasts in a dirty restaurant.

You must of come there on a Wednesday. I sat in the kitchen and Ben served it right off the flat-top.

Any word on if it's going to be open late on bar nights? I'm not vegan by any means, but some of Boon Burger's food is pretty decent and would be great post-night out food.

Had dinner Friday at the new Harvey's on Portage (old McDonalds) and it was not bad for fast food. All they need is more customers, at 5:45pm just 4 tables taken. I wonder if its busier at lunch time with the U of W students coming over to eat?
