It does seem weird that there is no noticeable glow yet, especially if it is those panels that are meant to do the glowing. Perhaps they still have to apply this 'paint'.
This last line seems to suggest that the panels are what is meant to glow though...
"...there is no maintenance, except to clean the button-like fixtures occasionally."
I can't imagine anything else but the panels being described as "button-like fixtures". Maybe the panels are what glows but they have some sort of protective film over them that blocks uv rays until the official full-illumination of the building when they will be taken off? Would seem a bit odd though.
Also, I wonder what kind of wear and tear this paint can handle. I'm hoping it is more like super-glue than paint cause it would look pretty crappy if it started coming off the building in uneven patches over the years.

thanks for the tips guys...this works but it takes away the pretty good quality that they were. By now these pics are 6 days old but still worth looking at.
And those fins do look short, i was under the impression that they were at least the equivalent of 3 floors high.
what the hell ive been trying forever to get them on at their full glory (quality).....no luck.....try going to these sites to see them, they are worth viewing.
I just contacted the editor over at emporis.com (another great site by the way)
He said that Ledcor construction recently contacted him and confirmed that the Shangri-La tower will now officially be 62 floors @ 201m. Congrats van, we finally have a building over 200m.....a little overdue for a city with a metro population of 2.2 million
I saw that post there and just didn't bother to respond. I've given up on it.
I'll post some pics from the top floor in a few weeks and then hopefully that will be the end of it.
Upon further reflection, that guy in the orange vest that was directing traffic on Alberni that told me it'll be 62 floors... it wasn't an orange vest he was wearing, it was pink

Bring a GPS up there with ya to confirm the height, maybe that would put a rest to it.
Although I did hear that there is a new construction method where a building raises after it is built like those little dinosaur sponges... I heard it from some guy. His name was Bill. He was my waiter at white spot yesterday.
Raising up buildings using hydraulic jacks is not uncommon; it's used at Bonzai Airport in Japan to level the building as the island it is built on is constantly sinking
mind you that airport is only several levels high as opposed to 62 floors / 60 stories here
I know there is a Shangri-La going up in Toronto but is there also not an 81 story tower going up? Is that the Trump? Where they just sold the Penthouse for $ 16 million? cause the Shangri-La there is only 70 stories
