New rendering of the dual-branded AC Hotel / Residence Inn that will be going atop Epicenter. The building will be 320 ft tall (with 225 ft of it the new structure) — 22 total floors. 184 rooms for AC Hotel, 116 rooms for Residence Inn (please, please change this brand).

On the 22nd floor there will be a bar and terrace that is approximately 5,600 sqft extending the entire length of the building along the light rail. Skylights and a standard roof structure will cover half of the this area and the remainder will be outdoors. There will also be a smaller balcony on the Trade Street side.

Pre-recession there was going to be a condo tower (called 210 Trade) that was going to be built atop the 5 floor Epicenter. That was never built. Here you can see the 1st floor of the hotel (former condo) structure sitting uncompleted atop Epicenter:

This is what 210 Trade would have looked like:

Wow-- look at that, invest in infrastructure and transit and we'll create good jobs.

Congrats on the light-rail opening this week.

Charlotte really needs to improve the quality of its buildings. Other than BoA, Wachovia, and Hearst, its towers are really lame.

He does the same shit in the Atlanta threads...it's best to just ignore him - I'm sure he does it for attention, though I'm not sure why he condescends to enter the threads of cities he apparently dislikes. You know what they say about people who feel the need to disparage others.

Riiight, so glad that you provided a half dozen of the exact same "honest statements" on the forum in the last day alone.

How insightful and constructive.
