This development, along with The Bow, Jamieson Place and EAP will bring 5 million square feet of new space to the market. The overall vacancy rate will go up of course, but most of the new 5 million square feet is already spoken for. about 4 of 5 million square feet is fully leased. EAP does not have an anchor tenant, but supposedly lots of interest.

The class 'B' buildings will be where the vacancy rate is the strongest. When these new buildings fill up, they will be pulling people out of their class 'B' spaces to move into these new buildings.

...and perhaps convert Class B and C buidlings into residential use if the market allows.

Thanks for information.

There has been talk of that in the Calgary construction thread. It's something I'd like to see happen, but will depend on how long the vacancy rate can stay high. If it stays high for a long enough time, then some of the building owners may decide to convert.

I suppose Centennial is just about finished. Any idea when tenants start to move in?

Oxford took over control of the building from the construction company on April 1st, the transition will be done by April 15th. Once that happens, tenants are free to move in depending on when their space is complete.

My company moves from Bow Valley into Centennial on May 30th.

I'm looking forward to seeing the podium when it's done. It seems farther away from being completed than the tower itself.

Still not a big fan of this one, it's too dark and there are too many doodads on it. Good filler I guess.

Heres a few from Apr 15th.
Construction fencing is down around about 1/2 the site, the south and east sides are fully fenced yet. The plaza on the SW corner is nearly done.

the light on the spire of the lower one has been on at least twice at night recently, looks good but I hope they chnage the color to something other than amber.

It's actually a WZMH design. Gibbs Gage did the working drawings.

Yeah, but with a boom and bust economy like ours, it's a smart way to develop projects, spreads the risk out over a couple buildings instead of taking it all at once. I hope we are mostly through with the twin design with projects like the Bow getting built.

I've seen it 3 times now. I think it looks great! Nice departure from all the tacky LED's we've had lately.
