In terms of grandness. Bay street is too corporate and closed-in. Yonge and to a lesser extent,University, give big-city vibes, though I do agree that the East-West streets like King/Queen, etc. are more buzzing with activity.

In terms of giving a real big-city vibe, I see Richmond and Adelaide as good areas to see canyons, although John street is starting to feel more dense toward the inner core IMO

Yonge and University are polar opposites and I don't see that changing in my lifetime. Yonge, if everything goes as planned, will take on more of Bay Street's persona. Big podiums of CRUs occupied by chains. Ceiling heights should be better and arcades are now discouraged by planning.

Wow, Massey's progressing fast, just a few weeks ago I was there and there was still a near empty gap! Yonge street needs wider sidewalks and some patio/stall space, pronto!
