they started at the base....
from earthcam you can see the base
stuff is half gone......
The east elevators are being converted from hi speed material hoist to personal/material hoist for conde fitout through 2014. the base is being converted into interim loading dock since the roadway to permanent one can not be built till temporary path station entrance is demoed.
it's in the middle of the page. A little confusing if they're just lifting it up the tower or actually installing it. New York 1 had a piece this morning saying it will be raised so we'll just have to wait and see. here's a link for both.
Seeing those nicely painted white cranes next to the exposed spire support structure really brings home how important it was to paint the support structure white. I simply cannot believe that they didn't paint it white now that the support structure is going to be visible without it's covering.
One World Trade Center To Reach Full Height On Monday
By: NY1 News
The final pieces of One World Trade Center's spire will be raised on Monday, making the skyscraper the country's tallest building at 1,776 feet.
Installation of the spire began in December.
The 18 pieces that are being assembled together were shipped from Canada and New Jersey.
One World Trade Center will be the third-largest building in the world when it opens sometime next year.
Very Nice, so are we on for Monday for the final pieces?
if the weather is good, it is supposed to be, the 317/318 will be brought to dog house for installation on another day as press release says. As I said crane needs to be jumped again and guys installed in case of high winds etc.
