The third cityfront building looks a bit improved. None of the buildings are awesome but they aren't as bad as I feared when we saw the first renderings.

Anyone going to be a able to go to that USX South Works lunch? A bit of a hike for a midday event. The site has me perpetually curious so if anyone does go some notes would be awesome.

Thanks for posting that Tm30. The old skyline looks positively empty. And what is that massive antena thing on Marina City?

Cityfront Plaza Phase III doesn't look half bad. Could be better, but quite an improvement. Looks like it's still in the 700' range as well.

And the render for Children's Memorial looks wrong. Is part of the building actually hanging out over thin air on the left??

^ Awesome. Hopefully its a good design, cuz if it is, he sure picked a good spot to stick out

And, I kind of like the children's memorial design, but only because its a children's hospital. My sister works at children's memorial, and I'm sure she'll get a kick out of her new building

(@ Steely) 340 on the Park is listed as completed now on Emporis, and Blue Cross is UC (that's not news, I know). And both 5649 N. Sheridan and the Lurie Children's Hospital have pages: ID #s 307542 and 307629 respectively.

Okay, here are the other two. The first is from Western/Elston. There's a huge bilboard right in the middle of the shot, so it had to be taken in sections.

This spot is a bit close, but I was trying to find one where I could see OMP. You can see OMP and the Columbian peaking out way over on the right.
This is from the upper crossover bridge at the Green line's Ashland station.

I love the billboard removal - if only it worked real time.

You can see the Trump cranes poking up over the IBM building in the second shot.

............But earlier this summer, Ted Tetzlaff, chairman of the McPier board, disclosed that plans could include a hotel of 1,500 rooms or more.

The hotel expansion would more than double the convention center's on-site hotel offerings.

Plans already are under way to build a 600-room addition to the existing 800-room Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, which is owned by the authority.

^ If I recall correctly, the parcel mentioned- just north of the west building- isn't all that big. So could a supertall possibly go here? 1500 rooms is a ton!

Say what? This 1500+ room hotel is in addition to the Hyatt expansion. HELL YEAH! This should really liven up the formely desolete island that surrounded McCormick Place. The best part is that PDNA will now have a huge hotel tower rammed right up thier ass by an authority which they have few NIMBY powers to control.
