BTW, I don't know if you'd know this... but has it been here forever? Because it has a local slang term, and I don't recall what it is but I'm almost certain "sweet" is in the name.
It was introduced in North America in the late 19th century for ornamental purposes, so it has had more than enough time to spread before people realised it was invasive. In the UK (where they introduced it from Japan several decades earlier), the invasion is so bad that it is now prohibited to plant it (see here).

If I went to Quebec City... my camera would probably overload. My feet would probably just be giant blisters by the end of my visit too. I got huge blisters from the amount of walking I did in Regina (over 13 km on the Saturday alone)

tirana is interesting as the colorful paint was the innovation of one man: the vaclav havel-esque artist-cum-mayor-cum-prime minister edi rama.

i suspect the atlantic canadian cities took their cue from ireland orginally.

Another day of RDF - and this time with proper rain that actually gets you wet so I couldn't go for a walk.

But I did go for a little drive.

Video Link

And a few screenshots with a map indicating where they were taken. Except #6 because I suck at counting.

Georgestown.

The Georgestown Bakery.

Maxse. Love that street name. The Dardanelles is my favourite in this neighbourhood, though.

At the bottom of that hill is Rennie's Mill River and Empire Avenue. This side and behind me is Old St. John's. Everything on that hill rising up on the horizon is all post-1949 suburbia.

Circular Road. One of the straightest in the city. I think that's the joke.

Cavendish Square - the intersection of Ordnance, Gower, Military, King's Bridge, Forest and, a few metres off, Duckworth and Plymouth.

Gower Street.

Gower at Cochrane.

Gower Street.

Gower at Prescott.

Road work on Prescott Street. If you're from this area, you say Press-kit. If you're from elsewhere in the city, you generally say it as the name.

Rawlin's Cross - the intersection of Rennie's Mill, Monkstown, Military, King's, and Prescott.

Rennie's Mill Road on the right, Monkstown straight ahead.

Back on Circular Road.

A new apartment building on Newtown Road.

The horse-bird gargoyle thing is on the Royal York.

The church in the last picture is St. James Cathedral; the one seen earlier is at the Necropolis in Cabbagetown.

Beautifully done, Phillipe. No shots of the modern part of the city, but still authentic and beautiful.

If it was TO paper, saturation x10 and no people.

Very well done.

BTW, your show Ma Caravane au Canada... they came here. I watched it online, and shared it, but apparently it was only available for a few hours. It was perfect. They wore Viking helmets, held separatist flags as my profile picture, and talked about how NL is WAY more separatist than Quebec based on what you find interacting with locals.
