Baraka Pita is always busy everytime I go.

And yeah, you could get imaginative now with WInnipeg Square with that restuarant now done, and that former corner restaurant still walled off.

But yeah, perfect timing considering what's in store at Wpg Square.
Chamberlyn's used to be good, but had gone downhill. I don't think their location hurt them as much as the declining quality of the food. They had no problem attracting customers when their product was good.

You allude to "what's in store at Wpg Square." That begs the question...what is in store at Winnipeg Square?

I'm merely speculating, but with the major changes coming to the south end of Winnipeg Square I'd imagine that this could be an opportunity to rearrange the layout of the mall in a way that might encourage tenants to sign on.

Went to Peg Beer Co. last night. Good food and nice beers, but their brewery is not going quite yet. No product for 6 weeks or so.

Sure is nice to have something like that in Wpg.

The beer list on their website looks pretty sparse. Only two beers on tap? I understand that they will want to focus on their own product but still.

This is just a soft opening. I suspect they needed some cash flow.

Still, it is a great asset. And walking distance for me.

I can tell you, I have been going to Chamberlyn's since a child with family.
It is not the location when food is good.
Also, for years now, been going every year anywhere from three to five times.
Both supper and lunch.
However, it is true. The food quality and service have gone downhill t the point that no longer do any of my family nor friends wish to go there as we used to celebrate an occasion.

La Roca is planning on mid May to open. They're building a 200 seat two-level wood deck patio with an outdoor bar and outdoor bathrooms, it's going behind the building. Sounds insane, but awesome.

I was initially skeptical about this but it looks like they're actually doing some nice work with the building... it looks quite different than it did in its previous incarnations. The deck sounds pretty cool.

Yeah, I know someone who works there. Things seem to be on track for their own brews being available in May.

It's dangerously close for me...right across the street.

I'm sure the health department closures were the death blow.

No - apparently it was a bad layout and the sole proprietor is concentrating on his 2 other locations.

Walking distance for me too lol. Been there a couple times and it's been jam packed. Simple industrial space.

Overall a fantastic addition to the East Exchange. Expands food/beverage choices to the north beyond Bannatyne.

Great flatbreads and huge charcuterie and cheese boards. Nice touch to be able to look in on the brewing vats. Looking forward to trying their product.

Cool! Great to see some Indigenous-style restaurants opening (this one, and Feast on Ellice). It should be more of a thing in Winnipeg.

I walk past there twice a day and had no idea this was in there.

2 new spots opening in Airport area (1) Burrito Splendido on Route 90 near the Wendy's adn Tim's in the old entreprise car building. Those 2 places have insane lunch crowd, so it'll do well. not sure about the after 4pm crowd though as there's 0 residential. (2) new craft brew (can't recal name) in stripmall along route 90, just before Wellington, weird location as it's mostly industrial around the area.

Maybe we need a SSP get together there...
