Yeah that's true. I think they could have kept the balconies but made the other side equally as interesting to look at. Maybe not, I'm no structural engineer.

TK2001, thanks for all the photos! I appreciate the updates. I'm planning a walking tour for the weekend and you've shown me all the places I need to go.

It’s nice, but developers shouldn’t be allowed to get away with promising one thing and building another.

Who promised? SLC’s presentations of the initial plans and renderings did not include the word ”promise” as far as I can see. I hate seeing that word mis-attributed so frequently in online discussions generally where the subject parties never promised anything in particular.

@southernlandcompany
Drone shots possibly by Elevated Angles, as they also collaborated on The Laurel and (different developers) Arthaus

^ Different than the plan, but still looks snazzy, especially that view from the South looking North.

I was a little nervous about the color palette change but I think it turned out great! It blends well with the Market St towers in the background and serves as a nice contrast with the pre-war buildings on Walnut

No, they didn't pinky swear, but what is the point of these presentations?

Simply to illustrate their concept as it stands at that point in time, subject to change.

I agree. Though nonbinding, that's the idea of CDR and civic group meetings. You shouldn't be able to just present something totally different than reality when these are required processes. Otherwise we'll see people presenting whatever people want to see to avoid continuances, even if theres no intention to follow through
