I think we will get them, I guess my point is a development isn't bad if it isn't 800 ft.

Totally understand the desire for a big one

I do prefer the infill to be honest. The gap between Midtown and BOA finally closing after all these years makes a huge difference even if they're mainly midrises in between.

But think about this, we havent had a tower buit in Midtown or downtown surpass 600 ft since 1180 Peachtree which was completed almost 14 years ago. You can't blame us too much for wanting more height!

Let me just say, this development has been an absolute joy to see rise thus far. It's such a massive project and the construction is so complex, yet they're going at such a great speed. It think it's the most exciting project in Atlanta right now.

Opus is currently the only actual project with a solid height for you guys then I guess....

I was walking in DT yesterday, so much opportunity there for a new project with some height

This project is awesome

We are not Chicago or New York yet - and all Miami's tall buildings are ugly condos lol, no thanks

Anyone know how tall the middle portion will be? I thought it would have topped out by now but it seems as though they're starting yet another floor. It has to be at least 7 floors now.

How many floors is the podium going to be? Also, what are they building in front of the office tower? I thought that was supposed to be a plaza?

Atlanta has several zones those cities don't, like Buckhead, Perimeter, where density still isn't an issue, land is available.

Zoning is a big problem for the districts outside of downtown. Building really tall isn’t easy because the FAR in midtown for instance tops out at around 10-12x depending on bonuses

Austin and Nashville are a fraction of our size, and would kill for half of what's going on here. We're doing fine.

Agreed. Atlanta is doing just fine.

If you look at aerial drone footage from just 3-4 years ago of Midtown, the Buckhead village, Buckhead CBD, Old Fourth Ward, West Midtown and even downtown you'll be amazed at how the city has urbanized.

I can remember how sparse Midtown's development was in the late 90s, which was nothing more than a skinny skyline straddling Peachtree and 14th streets. That is no longer the case.

Atlanta's doing just fine.
