Trekker's been whining about this park right from the start. He probably prefers the parking lot.

Today - wrap around fencing down, laying of sod completed. Looking at early August opening (give it a week or two for sod to take root)

I see lots of natural grass and my earlier bitching comments were unfounded. The Park looks great. I do hope that eventually they will post a permanent sign with picture that tells the story of Alex Decoteau.

^There will be a plaque or something like it to honour Alex Decoteau and tell his story. I believe it will be located close to the centre of the park where the art is being installed.

Fencing fabric is down; really gives a sense of what the neighbourhood now feels like!

In the background - are any of the visible lots part of the central park?

Looking good, yes. Waiting for the sculpture and seeing the water feature in action.

But, it's on the corner, how did the address get to be 10204?

Think the farthest east lots are being expropriated for the new Central Park.

Alex Decoteau Park is nearing completion, our first Downtown park in decades! While the signs are now down, fresh sod has been laid that needs a few weeks to settle and take root.

We would like to invite you to experience the new park at our Annual CornFest this year on September 9! Details to come soon.

In addition, please mark your calendars for the formal Dedication Ceremony on September 16.

Until then the park will remain an active construction site and we would appreciate your help in staying off the grass.

Understandable, palatable, but late notice.
