I don't see why not, as they have to put the mechanical stuff someplace...I guess.
Besides, I think that "topping out" usually means reaching the peak of the occupiable floorage (sic?).

the reason why i asked this was because the building has been topped out so i was wonder if they going to finish that top part, and i also asked couple of weeks ago if this tower will be taller than Silver Towers and i got the reply saying it will but to me 440 West 42nd Street don't even look close to the the height of Silver Towers.

It seems to have topped out to the main roof at 188m, but the mechanical equipment and whatnot still needs to be built to bring the height up to 204m.

I think you're right on that. They did the same with Beekman, having a top-out party while the mechanical floors were still under construction.

Oh, I didn't know that 11 Times Square stuck out so well!

The building sticks out in the skyline very well, but this is one of those rare cases where it needs about 10 or 20 more stories.

From the air the glass looks amazing. This one really flew up, I remember not so long ago there was nothing even above ground.

It has to be how the windows open that gives account for how nice the facade should look when it's all done.
The angles of the open windows should catch/reflect more sunlight...if that makes sense.

^ I love the density of Manhattan....Uptown, Downtown, Midtown, it makes no difference...
