I'm pretty London-centric in my airport thinking, but since I moved to Woodstock 2 years ago, Hamilton is almost as easy as London to get to. I'm happy to see YHM getting all these new flights and Florida hopefully has convenient cruise times. Flying to San Francisco next weekend on Porter and would have gladly switched it to YHM if that was available. Doubtful we will see California very soon though.

As stated in my last post

Here's the official announcement
Porter Airlines is expanding its U.S. network with new seasonal service from Hamilton International Airport (YHM) to Orlando (MCO) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) starting in December.

Flights to Orlando begin December 12, and Fort Lauderdale on December 13, with three weekly roundtrips each. Porter will be the only carrier offering nonstop service on these routes, which will operate through April.

EDIT: YYC is 6x weekly and I really over calculated the numbers!

Capacity more than doubled from last summer.

I'm a big fan of the YEG departure time.

I'd imagine WS will now increase YYC service, up to 2x daily. YKF/YXU all have more service than us and that's likely because they have competition from Flair.
Could we get an updated version? I actually use your chart when booking future flights to help determine depature date for direct flights.

This winter, the forecast calls for snow… and another major upgrade at YHM!
We're thrilled to share that construction is underway as we prepare to welcome the first-ever passenger jet bridges at Hamilton International! Stay tuned for progress updates as we build a better boarding experience, making your journey more enjoyable from terminal to takeoff. 🛫

Unfortunate but not the end of Porter at YHM

Once Porter is established and people start to notice YHM as a "go to" airport, maybe we'll see that route back and maybe some other non-popular destinations served once or twice a week.

I believe Porter's next target for YHM should be the shorter, high-volume routes like Montreal (to their new Montreal Metropolitain airport?), Ottawa, and NYC.

Honestly if they can succeed with their proposed codeshare with American Airlines, flights to Dallas and/or Philadelphia would be very useful as well. being able to make a connection to an American flight to Europe and avoid Pearson would be great.

Fully agreed on getting Montreal Metropolitan and Ottawa into rotation. Wonder where they will use the plane they freed up?

I don't think Porter has the Dash 8-400 capaciy to add these routes. I can't see them using the Embraers.

Toronto Island Airport (YTZ) is a hub for Porter Airlines, which caters heavily to business travelers with its convenient downtown location and frequent service to Ottawa, Montreal, and other business-centric destinations. So I'm doubtful.

Too bad about Nassau, I was planning to go to the Atlantis. It would be nice to have a flight to the Pacific side of Mexico, like Los Cabos or Puerto Vallarta.

I would totally love for them to add Boston by summer of 2027 for personal reasons.

That would be too big for YHM-YOW or YHM-YUL, I would have thought. But they are going to have to use them somewhere so time will tell.

Maybe as part of an onward flight to the east where they need to get an E2 to YHU anyway, so run one from Hamilton-Montreal-Eastern Canada or something like that.

I mean Air Canada regularly uses A220s and 737-800's on YYZ>YUL flights.

YUL and NYC are basically the highest load routes out of the GTA - Porter would probably be able to fill 1-2x daily from YHM even with the E195-E2. There are currently like 40+ daily departures to Montreal from YYZ/YTZ - I'm sure Hamilton could support 1 or 2.

The E195-E2s aren't that large at 132 seats.

Annoying that Porter isn't offering FLL on Fridays. They should know the bulk of the traffic to FLL is going to be cruise related, and that Saturdays are a big cruise day AND that many cruisers don't like to fly the day of. Looking at a Saturday to Saturday cruise in March so we want to fly down Friday. The Saturday morning flight is tempting and 98% chance it probably would be fine, but I don't like that risk, also with not having US preclearance, and who knows how busy US CPB is late morning on a Saturday in FLL. Will likely end up flying from Toronto on Friday and back to Hamilton on the Saturday (Hamilton is much cheaper for the mid day return flight compared to the Toronto flight).
