Adding to my earlier efforts, some shots from just now

And we can begin to appreciate its impact on the LA skyline

Good shot here! The partial floor that goes behind the bottom of the blue core form is level 63 The top of the core is at level 67 Level 68 is the next to be constructed. These are still hotel floors.

Went for a Sunday hike in Griffith and snapped some obligatory DTLA photos. Wilshire Grand is already going a long way towards filling out the skyline.

glass curtain leakage testing is standard. Its done to make sure there are no defects letting water in when it rains. better to catch it now then wait till the first storm after its complete to find rain water in hotel rooms or offices causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Is the core really almost at full height? The renderings made it seem like it would be much taller.

The core today is at the 68th level or 756' 3 They need to complete 68-73 That is about 90' of core left. The core will be about even with the AON sign in this render. This is the outside deck level or level 73 The steel will continue up about 100' past that point. Then the spire.

That means only the aon center and us bank are taller than it now. Wells Fargo and 2 California Plaza look taller than it though cause of Bunker Hill giving them a boost.

True. The KABC Downtown cam now shows there was a partial core and core crane jump today. The work lights on the crane were about even with the top of the PWC building from that cameras perspective last night and now they are above it.

For how enormous LA is it has a pretty sparse downtown. You would think it would have as enormous and dense of a skyline as Chicago. This tower will be a great addition but it really needs a hell of a lot more towers downtown to fill it in.

If you add up all the high rises of DT, mid-Wilshire, Century City, the Valley and Santa Monica - that would be a decent, dense clump of buildings. LA County is 555 square miles and the buildings are spread out. The vastness is what makes LA, LA.

Check back in in 5 years. In downtown there's an enormous amount of towers under construction and in the pipeline.
