I do not know. That crane is mainly for the podium. There is some more steel to set, so it may stick around for a bit longer.

They have removed many sections of the crane mast since Saturday when I was down there. This overlook is one of the best locations to get a feel for the height now. Just peeking over the 717' PWC Building.

I took a few pics while my wife and I were down there a couple weeks ago. Sorry these are a little old, I meant to post them sooner! We took a couple from the freeway and from Griffith Park, although the view from Griffith Park wasn't too clear that day but it gives an idea of the building height and how it fits into the skyline. This will be a good looking tower when it is done, well done LA!

I took some last weekend. First time in LA, and I have to say, the city is beautiful. All these years, I figured everything in LA was rundown except for the main spots, but from what I saw, it's a truly beautiful city!

Yes. The core crane or #2 crane can do that. The #1 crane will remove that crane and finish the top.

It still seems odd to me that, as the building becomes narrower towards the top, the core does not get any smaller. Perhaps this is due to the fact that, with the hotel lobby at the top of the building, full elevator service is necessary all the way up.
