I was hiking the hills to the north and above Dodger Stadium today. The core jump in progress has the core just appearing above the PWC building.

The GF convinced me to go to the Vegan Oktoberfest yesterday at LA Center Studios. I accidentally had a filter on in my phone camera. I blame the beer. And the Vegans.

And one bonus one standing at the corner of Fig and 7th. Getting too tall to capture it all from here.

The view from our perch in the Fashion District, after yesterday's brief rain.

That's one spectacular view you got, there, DistrictDirt.

And I have nothing against beer or Vegans either. Well, except maybe the Vegan cheese. That shit just doesn't taste right.

Thanks! Keep in mind that shot was taken with a telephoto lens; the Wilshire Grand isn't nearly that imposing from our rooftop when viewed normally. But we do have a pretty great view of the whole skyline, b/c we're set back a ways from the tall stuff and nothing blocks us yet.

Great photo, DD. This tower's gonna look so thin from that angle compared to PWC.

They are finished with one of the cranes. Starting this weekend and continuing for the next three weekends. One of the four cranes on the WG site will be taken down.

Seriously, I love that sculpture. I hope they are just doing maintenance or something.

The Wilshire Grand Facebook page had a story on it. They didn't say what crane would be disassembled. I think it might be the one nearest Wilshire because they are closing a lane for the removal of a crane.

New info here. This crane removal will be the first of of two cranes removed over the next few months. The second crane will be the one over Wilshire.

Metropolitan

Not sure where to ask this so here goes - why are there no diagrams of the metropolitan towers on the diagrams pages?

Tower crane 3 off Wilshire is the one coming down. The support cantilever platform steel that Tower crane 3 is sitting on needs to be removed to complete floors inside on those levels.

Tower crane 2 in the core will come out after the core concrete tops out. Tower crane 1 near Fig will be used to finish the steel, including crown sail and spire.

I saw two sections sitting below the tower crane 3 cantilever today. They must have just removed them then. Thanks for the info. Do you know when the white crane on the west side comes down.
