True North will now contact all 13,000 season ticketholders, and they will each have to come to the MTS Centre and show the credit card they used online. If they fail to show up, or don’t have the card, the account will be canceled.
That's actually not entirely true as I spoke with True North about this today. You do have to be present. However it's not the credit card that they will use but rather photo ID with matching name and address to the same ticketmaster account that placed the order. The credit card number is irrelevant (which in my case is pretty important since my cc # had changed but was not updated on ticketmaster)! Caused me a mild heart attack when I realized this on Saturday afternoon after snagging 2 x P3's online.

I would imagine it is this:

"Winnipeg will host a flying legacy in June when the Discovery Air "Hawk One" F-86 Sabre lands at the musuem for two days. Visitors can chat with the pilot and even climb into the cockpit......"

That whoosh sound you hear is the joke flying over your head. (Like a jet. Get it? A jet?)

I picked the most ridiculous example I could find assuming people would instantly laugh. The Arabic-looking "Jets" combined with the baby blue colour scheme is totally fabulous.

More seriously, this is the first I've heard of this:

In the meantime, True North is also hoping to announce the name of Winnipeg's team before the draft.

The NHL's board of governors is meeting in New York on Tuesday and will approve the sale of the Atlanta Thrashers and the relocation of the team to Winnipeg.

Unveiling the team name could take place shortly after Tuesday's meeting, however because of the uncertainty of the logo and sweater design, Winnipeg will use a generic NHL sweater when making its first selection, 7th overall at the Entry Draft.
My take? TNSE HAD to have had a name picked out a long, long time ago. Clearly they're in a major re-think and re-design process. Does that mean "Jets" is now likely? Hmmmm...

Actually, I think that is one of the better looking designs on that page. It at least kinda looks a little retro.

The "transformers"esque logos on some of those submissions are too busy and angry looking for me.

We might have a new name for our arena tommorow as the naming rights has expired for the MTS Centre.

^ Probably changing from "MTS Centre" to "MTS Allstream Centre".

Winnipeg should use an old Jets jersey at the draft. I can't wait to hear what the name is, tonight would be a good night to announce it on HNIC.

I don't think the rights have expired ($7 M over 10 years originally), but are being renegotiated...MTS will retain the rights, but as Drew notes, might include their national brand, Allstream... In the event that MTS does that, I'm sure most will still call it the MTS Centre (see: Skydome, Saddledome, Metrodome, etc...)

Freeweed I believe you are correct, I'm pretty sure the name and uniform were already picked and they feared a real backlash by not going with the Jets name and are now in design mode for the new Jet's uniform that probably needs NHL approval.

After 4 disappointments in 7 seasons, I'm calling it right now - Winnipeg will be the next Canadian club to win the cup.
