That’s awesome, Kelowna will now have 2 towers over 100m!

Maybe 3 if we could ever get an official height on the new landmark tower (it also must be around the 100m mark). Haha

Anyways, I saw an interesting property come up for sale:

1473 Water Street
This is the property of BC Tree Fruits which I believe would be located directly across from the proposed Westcorp Tower.

Does anyone know if this site would be able accomodate another tower? Listing says 0.275 acres but I'm not construction expert.
My dad worked in that office building for 25 years. He said it’s zoned for a 19 storey tower. But as we know and have seen time and time again, developers seem to have no trouble getting approval to go higher than the zoning. My guess is a developer will try to purchase the O’flannigans building to the east and possibly the building the subway is in as well to develop the entire block between queensway and the alley.

I stopped by the Bertram presentation centre at the weekend, the lady informed me that construction of both Bertram and the office block would happen simultaneously - likely beginning in January.
That's great news! From a city building perspective, to avoid becoming a resort town with towers, I am much more excited about the office component.

Read an article somewhere that there’s been lots of interest in the B.C. Tree Fruits building.

I noticed the construction fencing is up for the Six storey Worman commercial building on Lawrence next to Towne Centre Mall.

Also, lots of testing and activity going on at the former Husky station site at Water Street and Highway 97.

Great shots.

So cool to see the city grow!

Also cool to literally see the skyline grow up as well.

Kelowna really has a neat opportunity to capitalize on growth over the coming decades.
Particularly if Vancouver continues to trend in the way it has over the past 30 years.

When the Bertram office building goes up, I should think the water views will be blocked for the condo owners. Does that seem right?

I'd need to see a detailed rendering with proper spacing measurements to know for sure, but the west (Bertram) and south (Brooklyn) views of the lower floors will definitely be blocked (at least partially) by the office tower.

Couldn't agree more!

I'm extremely excited about the second UBCO campus.

It is exceedingly unlikely that a 23 storey office tower would be below 100m in height.

Looks like a third crane is up at Landmark 7. Apparently they are just finishing the parking podium so it should start to rise faster with just the office floors.

Downtown UBC Campus/Monaco sites

Noticed some excavators have knocked down one of the older buildings either on or adjacent to the old Monaco site. Continues to be machinery/construction fencing around that site. Also, there were some machines cutting down trees and removing vegetation from the Daily Courier parking lot. I know they said construction would not begin for at least two years but was interesting to see this kind if activity there. Does anybody know if they plan to demolish the old Daily Courier building soon?

The links below go to onedrive page. The photos are my own and they are pictures of the One Water Street development and the city. They were all taken from the roof of the building or from the man-basket which is hung from the tower crane. Im sorry i couldnt figure out how get the pictures to show on the paige. I wanted to share the views with as many people as possible since very very few people will ever get the opportunity to see this city from these perspectives.

Also, ive heard rumours that a 46 story tower will be part of a proposal that is going to be on the old north end saw mill site. Has anyone else heard about this?
