From the people who brought you "don't block the clock," it's "don't leave the perch in the lurch!"

Really though that's pretty incredible. I initially assumed it was going to be the parking lot adjacent to Metro, but this is just as good.

57 stories? If done right that could be in the top 5 tallest buildings in the city! With this and the hopefully huge Angels Knoll redevelopment I bet Park and 5th is really regretting the height cut.

^ 57 stories of residential/hotel would probably be in the 650-750 ft. range, depending on what they do with the crown. It would have to hit the highest end of that range in order to be the 5th tallest building. Here's hoping it can! If they're going to build that high and not go into the Pershing Square building, they'll likely need to include the single story Silver City building just to the north.

Either way, this is the kind of thinking we need directly over or adjacent to our transit stops.

Hopefully, we'll have a slab sided building that'll nestle nicely with the Pershing Square Building. This could be something approaching the height of the Gas Company Tower.

Pershing Square Building amazing looking building. Not to be greedy maybe they should have gone a bit further and included the Falla Paredes annex, and newly built Planet Fitness property in the plan, to give them Broadway exposure? Can't wait to see renderings.

Here's the article in regards to the new 28 story that just had it's groundbreaking ceremony. Something to note, even though it is only 28 floors, it's exactly the same height as the 34 story CIM tower.

http://urbanize.la/post/south-park-h...uietly-revived

In other news...The Onni Double tower site was just fenced off with Onni gates. Guys, literally another TWO groundbreakings this month. Will this boom ever come to a stop?

Just stop and think, an area that didn't get higher than 4 stories will now be home of it's own cluster of highrises. Circa brings 2, Oceanwide brings 3, Onni brings another 2, and Fulton brings another. That's 8 towers all practically nextdoor to eachother. With Hanzen and the double tower convention center hotel rapidly approaching. An entire area of new, clean, glass skyscrapers. Incredible.

That whole area is going to look nearly unrecognizable from the 110 soon.

I doubt we'll see the hotel towers on Pico break ground until at least mid 2018. Still exciting. Good news about the Onni twins. Those are ones I've been really looking forward to. Now I'm just crossing my fingers that 4th/Hill, 4th/Broadway, SoLA village, and some of the City West towers pull through soon.

Where did you find the height measurement for the CIM tower?

I believe 4th and Broadway might've started.

Pretty sure it's just demo. Permits haven't been secured.

I think that these towers are better looking than the "Bic" lighter building on Hope

From that article:

Quote:
Fifth and Hill is designed as a modern mixed-use high-rise, and features a dramatic Sky Lobby on the 13th floor, as well as pool decks, open space and restaurants for guests to enjoy. The Sky Lobby, a multi-story open space cut out of the center of the building’s structure, creates a space to enjoy views of downtown, and for light to pass through the building’s core.
The residential tower will appear to float above it. Many of the residences will have individual cantilevered swimming pools and terraces, establishing a profile for this high-rise that is unprecedented in North America.
Is it me or does it seem as though this will be the Park Fifth that we all wanted? Sure does seem like some of what Park Fifth had (a multi story open space, integration of an older building into the design) is going to be used in Fifth and Hill.

CIM's tower was listed at 330' on skyrise cities and on skyscrapercity.

http://skyrisecities.com/database/pr...888-south-hope

With 1212 Flower beginning their site prep i'll just drop these to give you an idea of what we are expecting. 40(529') and 31 floors(421').
Fun fact: The 40 story will be 1 foot shorter than the 40 story twins going up at Oceanwide, but the 31 story will be 1 foot TALLER than the circa twins.

This rendering is alittle wonky since the taller tall will wrap around the white one up to the street.
