That will be a traffic clusterbomb if they don't put lights on it at some point. One would think they would put lights on that, and close the current entrance off of Mtn Road to Sobeys/Dairy Queen to improve traffic flow.

the shannex property was an inheritance, McCrea estate, where one of the heirs was holding out for a big enough payout, $6mil was the number that was often thrown around because I believe there were 6 heirs. It was for sale unofficially as a pocket listing but it was priced out of the local market until covid and land prices caught up with the ask. All part with 06778368, 06778392 and 01942514

Firehouse Subs is coming to the Lounsbury Plaza on Mountain Road. Job adverts are posted on line.

https://www.firehousesubs.ca/

That's two high profile QSRs now coming to the Lounsbury Centre, Noodlebox has already been previously announced.

The Lounsbury Centre is stepping up their game!

I'd love to see some announcements on tenants coming to Horsman Road plaza now that the optical place has opened up.

The excavation work that was ongoing at the Home 2 Suites site, next to the Hampton Inn has finished up. It appears it was only for a culvert and some underground piping work. No actual hotel construction ongoing.

The “coming soon” sign for the hotel is still there

I keep wondering if these projects that seem to be getting delayed are due to the interest rates forecast. Two more cuts anticipated this year, and again in January, March & April of 2025. It could make a big difference to a multi million dollar development.

Its possible. If you have this dangled in front of you, you probably would be willing to wait another 6-8 months before diving into a project. Though I would say any big developments would already be in the financial stages, so they may not be able to wait for the rates. I’m not sure, it’s above my pay grade.

Traffic chaos on Mountain Road this morning near NBCC!!!!

They were doing roadwork where this new street will connect to Mountain Road.

Traffic was limited to one lane each way. I was 15 minutes late for work.

The traffic in this area has been getting worse and worse over time.

Man I figured they'd be seriously reorienting the mall and NBCC parking lot entrances to the new road, and off Mountain, but this map indicates they're just adding new entrances.

What's with that gravel service road perpendicular to Preston Crescent that runs into the little park on the north end of Elmhurst? Is it solely to access the tower site? Probably won't be needed going forward.

One has to wonder how much traffic will pick up on Ayer now that it will become more of an alternate arterial road to Mountain Rd.

Infinity Aerials photo showing roadwork ongoing behind the NBCC where Worthington and Ayer will connect up with Mountain Road. You can see where the new roundabout is going.

There could definitely be some student housing built behind there, it seems like a perfect spot

PIZZA ALERT!!!!

Zio's Pizza apparently reopened today at the corner of Mountain and Mapleton. Initial revues have been very good. "Zio's is back and as good as ever....."

It's a bit maddening seeing all of this forest disappear...inevitable I guess.

I had high hopes that the Vision Lands would be 'central park' within the city...not to be I guess.

Someone better be on top of street infrastructure forecasting because this has a potential to be a nightmare.

Vancouver and Montreal are in top 6 in the world for # of trees within city limits.

I would love for Moncton to adopt a similar policy.

This isn’t in the vision lands so keep your high hopes lol.
I was saddened to see the trees cut down in this area though. It didn’t make a lot of sense to me since there was nothing imminent being build on most of this land.

Looks like things are back at this site. Saw them hooking up an office trailer today and the site has been cleaned up a lot. Finally.
