Don't forget the Capitol dome. It is genuinely a cool feature to the skyline as well. #notabox

Frost Bank has the most distinctive crown of the modern buildings IMO.

Just harking back to the old saying, just "Keeping Austin Weird" in a real good way.

If only it were about 200 ft taller. It’s going to get buried behind some of the taller surrounding buildings someday soon.

Absolutely true.

Block 16 is another. And The Perennial is going to make us look like a Flash Gordon serial from the '20s with all those wraparound deco balconies.

My least favorite view is north, northwest. Despite the height, the building still looks kinda squatty and stretched horizontally. It's just bulky which I know several have mentioned they like. South view is decent but not as cool as the west facing side.

Completely agree. That view really accentuates the building's angles. I'm actually surprised by how much I'm digging it. I've been thinking the tower design is a bit of a bore despite its height, but this view from the west might change my mind.

So potentially we will have the top two then once 98RR gets going? To my awareness there's another supertall in Miami gearing up, but otherwise is that it?

98RR is now under construction. We do have 2 of the top 10 and that doesn’t even include the Republic.

The crazy thing for me, living north-central and spending most of my time around N Lamar, Burnet, and Airport, is how often this thing appears and how big it seems. Driving around in this area you can catch glimpses of the Austonian or Indy and recently even 44E, but downtown always felt far away (and given that the grid here is off-center from downtown's, it wasn't always clear exactly where due-south and DT were). Now 6x is a fixture in some south-facing views and it really increases the feeling that you're in a big city. 98RR is just going to be a constant presence throughout much of the city.
