The closest thing to broadcast news in my life is me listening to CBC Radio One to and from work. I think it has been nearly a decade since I actually watched the six o'clock local news.
I watch it daily.

The Manitoba Webcams website is no more. It was a collection of weather-related webcams throughout Manitoba. Was operating for several years (since '97?)

For what it's worth, back when they were still A-Channel they had a somewhat legit evening news program.
Funny you say that. I was just watching a documentary on YouTube about CityTv creator Moses Znaimer.

He seemed pretty bitter when they pushed him out years ago. He seems to have bounced back since then with his Zoomer brand.

Just heard HSC is splitting off from WRHA. Probably the first step in dismantling the RHAs, which I knew was coming.

Pallister is creating the PHO. Provincial Health Authority ( or something like that). I assume all regional health authorities will be dismantled eventually.

^ If that were to happen, you can start the countdown timer for the inevitable return of RHAs 20 years after that.

Centralizing the functions that are common across the RHAs such as HR and clinical standards. HSC fits under that because a good portion of its business supports the whole province as opposed to just Winnipeg.

Details here

They're not losing their station:

These are all pretty sensible changes.

This never used to be a trophy I wanted to waive high, but at this point, I mean damn, we might as well shoot for an even 20.

NDP MLA James Allum has started a petition to try to push the owners of the Rubin Block at S. Osborne and Morley to do something with it now that it has been boarded up by the City, and has been mostly vacant for over a decade...

http://www.winnipegsun.com/2017/07/1...r-old-building

I don't know what the petition can do given that it's private property, but I agree with the sentiment.

The landlord is apparently Composite Holdings, which is tied to the Werier family. They seem to make a habit of sitting on prominent empty or near-empty redevelopment sites for decades without ever doing anything with them (other properties I believe are theirs include vacant lot SE Assiniboine at Kennedy near the Legislature, vacant Werier warehouse Princess at Alexander in the Exchange).
