I have not seen anything about Quance. I live in that end of town and would love that option. If you have any info on that please share it. You said they were planning a standalone building for it?
It will be a 2 story building on the NW corner of the property

If your only metric for accomplishment is cubic volume of concrete poured (which I know it is, for you) then yes, he is the greatest mayor the city ever had. If it's measuring services and public good, then no, he isn't (not that Regina has ever excelled in this area).

Still plugging away at the Cargill site. https://imgur.com/a/QZZiXhM

Starting the base for the 5th and final large diameter steel storage silos. Those should be jack up tanks where they start with the cap and install one row of panels at a time under it. Finally disassembling the slip form rig from the concrete silos. Girders up for the bridge.

Isn't the northwest corner of the property where the car charging station is?

Next to The Glasshouse or whatever it is called now.

Edit: The dense development is going next The Glasshouse at 4600 Green Apple. The scaled back location is 3601 Green Marsh.

Thanks. Both Northridge, right? I didn't realize the townhouse portion was scaled back. I thought for a minute they maybe jumped on the vacanr lot at Gee and Green Apple as well.

The tenders were cancelled as it was way over budget, and it went out for Construction Management proposals. Ledcor was announced as Construction Manager in January, and they've been tasked with taking $30M out of the original design. Looks like a tough task and there's been nothing more made public in the last 2 months.

That is quite unfortunate. I don’t know where Regina is going to get their money from the build a new library. Something must be in the works. Do you think the provincial government should provide financing for these libraries?

Construction on the water pipeline over to the new east pumping station starts this Wednesday (or next week, story was updated so I think the Wednesday part is wrong). I think the initial work is just clearing out trees.
https://www.cjme.com/2024/03/11/construction-on-water-network-to-disrupt-traffic-on-ring-road/

The exit ramp to Argyle Park will be closed for a few weeks at a time. Traffic will have to detour over to Pasqua Gate to get into the area.

RPL has a reserve fund for this purpose. I believe it is about $30 million and of course they can sell the old central location for a few million. They can also borrow funds and repay them over 30 years out of library taxes.

I could see them getting Federal money for green initiatives. I have not reviewed the provincial policy on funding library capital projects.

Edit: the RPL capital reserve is more like $20 million.

I suppose speed reductions are the norm now for work in the ditch, but lane closures should be kept to an absolute minimum. Lane closures are a hazard in their own right and of course will create massive traffic jams on the busiest parts of the Ring Road.

Highway hotline made a FB post indicating south Ring Road restrictions as early as late March for replacement of the second highway 6 bridge.

And if I recall correctly 2 summers of restrictions for the north Albert Ring Road bridge replacements starting next year.

I also believe there is a project to add a third lane to each side. Nott sure when that starts. From 980 CJME last summer:

Quote:
The city is also looking to add a lane to Ring Road between Dewdney and Ross avenues in both directions. The project would also look to improve the on and off ramps.
I believe this last piece is related tot he massive new logistics warehousing with dozens of semi loading docs that is starting to begin operating on the former Sears site.

I can't remember the last time the Ring Road had normal traffic flow in summer.

Saskatchewan government to start work on $1.15B irrigation project
REGINA — The Saskatchewan government says it's set to begin work on a $1.15-billion project to expand irrigation in the province.

This is great news for southern Saskatchewan, including Regina and Moose Jaw
