You know your buildings ugly when you wish that was still a thing .
I saw Buddy Wasisname and the Other Fellers play at the tavern here. It was like being at a wedding reception.

Ah, the great rooster clocktower of Longbranch, not once did I think about if there was a condo in that clock on my many drives past it. An ugly one for sure but no match for the great clocktower of Laval. I wonder if clockzilla has a condo in its clocktower!

That clock tower looks great. Very cool! Although I'd loose the balcony in the arch)

The Dartmouth one looks fine. Hard to tell either way really with that rendering

^ The tower is good, I get that the lowrises and parking lot behind it are not stellar but by and large it's a nice development for a non urban-core area.

Speaking of Ugly Clock Tower condo's. This one was only $1 million and King and Bathurst. Who ever staged it should be fired. Also it looks like a suburban home inside.

What are those 6 buildings at the bottom and why are they so bland? I think the rendering is kinda ugly. Plus there's no trees.

I doubt it is a final or detailed design. The developer has said they plan to update it in the future.

What happened is that this area is going to have new planning rules in July, and developers are rushing to get proposals in so they are grandfathered (this site will be only 27 storeys after the change).

There are many developments in Halifax that had preliminary renderings like this and then ended up looking much better.

An example preliminary design for an office tower in downtown Halifax. This is probably the "we want to build an office tower of size X but haven't hired architects yet" stage:

That is awful! Seriously, at least the Longbranch Clocktower had good interior design. This one looks like the inside of a snouthome in Missingsausage .

The same design over and over and over again until you get sick of it.

Also the clocktower inside the Longbranch one looked awesome from the inside, this one has a wimpy baby clock.

Was there a shipping container full of 80's brown glass they found somewhere and used to cut costs?

Niagara Falls is so ugly like, I knew that it was fucking hideous, but I was still taken aback.

I didn't take any photos of the town itself because I respect myself too much to witness it.

The good news is that you can still enjoy the place while ignoring all of the distractions. Probably the best Tourist Attraction that I have ever visited anywhere in the world are the Maid of the Mist/Hornblower boats that go right up to the falls... just a spectacular experience to be surrounded by a massive wall of water. And no Hard Rock Cafes, wax museums or McDonald's in sight.

I have to agree. It's high up on my list of experiences as well, and I've done a bunch of stuff around the world like diving on the Great Barrier Reef and swimming in Capri's Blue Grotto.

What's funny about the Niagara boats is when you meet the previous boat on its way back, you're mystified that they're all hooting and hollering as if a sports team just won a championship.

And then some minutes later, on your way back, your boatload does the exact same thing.

Yup, last time I went to Niagara Fails (family dragged me, and we just stayed in Crapton Hell and not the nice parts) I was shocked at this hideous it was. The fact that we are our dinner at “Boston Pizza” was just the icing on the ugly cake. I didn’t take any photos either, I didn’t want my camera to suffer how I did.
