Also, I did some math and it's looking like they'll be working on the first setback floor (floor 36, ~13 floors from now) around July 10th, if they keep progressing at this rate. Let's see how this prediction holds up lol

I'm thinking you're going to be able to see this from 90 on your way into the city. I think...

I wasn't expecting this building to have as much glass. I thought it would be mostly stone, similar to one bennett.

When looking at the schematics from https://chicagoyimby.com/2022/04/potenti...n-lake-shore-drive-in-streeterville.html

I didn't realize that the footprint for the south tower is actually larger than the north, even though it is shorter. There is also a little more space allocated to the site. This makes sense to some degree as the south tower was originally planned as the taller one.

Still optimistic that eventually the south taller could be taller than the current design - at least the space for it exists.

I was expecting a metallic facade, kinda like this though!

You and me both, although I acknowledge the odds are pretty slim.

I'll be happy if both towers get built as they currently are planned, considering the turbulence the real estate market will have to weather over the next several years. Big towers are not as safe developments as mid or low rise projects.

The south tower footprint being larger than the north is a little debatable, no? Splitting hairs, I suppose.

I could be wrong, but I thought the larger footprint was just for the first 1-2 podium levels? In the diagram, you can see the tower walls nested within the perimeter. Unless those dimensions are actually subtly larger (I haven't taken out my ruler lol)

Are the parking ramps for both towers located on the north side of the site? And the retail too. Might be why the base is larger.

Nice shots! It'll be halfway up by mid summer I'm guessing.

Completion in 2027 according to CTBUH:
https://www.skyscrapercenter.com/building/462-east-north-water-street/37138

I plan to visit Chicago in April 2026 and expect it to have topped out by then, at least structurally.
