The last time I visited NYC, the Chrysler building still poked out of the skyline. Nowadays it barely registers. Amazing.

This one has really been rising fast.

The pace at which this building is being constructed is astounding. Truly impressive.

Thanks for all of the great updates.

Thanks for all of the great updates.

It's a treat watching this one go up, quickly and pretty much as expected.

Looks like they've just finished enclosing another mechanical floor. The glass/louver treatment is excellent.

While not quite as close as BofA, it will still loom over Bryant Park...

^ Awesome pic right there.

The glass/terra cotta combo is really striking as it comes into view from 30 Rock. Black and white stripes from afar. Totally unique for the skyline. I know I've gone on and on about the facade, but it's well-deserved.

I am still extremely confused about how this is being constructed. In that last shot there is no core to be seen, and you can basically see daylight through the entire interior?

Not all buildings are built with a concrete core that rises first. The entire structure is steel and so is the core, at first. They place the beams in the middle and then over time they will put rebar around it then pour concrete making the core very strong. They did the same thing with One WTC. Here's a photo of what I'm talking about, you can see concrete on the lower levels

Add a little water (money) to the chia pet (NYC) and watch it grow!

Cha cha cha chia!!!

Somehow this has to do with NYC, financing, zoning, and growth.
