That 3/4 block and the lots at 9th and Figueroa across from The Pantry will be the large developments in the next real estate cycle. Hopefully the office market recovers and they have some office components to them.

Sometime in the 2020s I bet. Most new offices seem to be going into refurbished old buildings and when there are no more old buildings to be fixed up, new office highrises will be built I bet. Personally I'd like to see a complex that involves both office and residential towers.

Excellent updates Eighball and timpdx. Your the Tectonics of LA.

BTW, yuppie lifestyle = awesome lifestyle.

Love the glass on this, especially in the bottom pic of post #2845. Would be cool to have a corner office in the first pic.

Amazing progress since 8/2014. Rising very quickly. This, and the Metropolis project are really going to redefine the skyline.

The steel looks to be up to level 48 at about 550' There are some good pictures over at the Wilshire Grand Center web site. Go to Photos month by month. In addition at the bottom of this page click on Instagram and click on any picture. Then click on the #Wilshiregrand and check the videos and pictures out. The top crane operator goes by Tower-Guy. He posts frequently here. Good stuff!

Putting up floors 47 and 48 now, then 49. Only one more tier before the next significant seismic floors begin. Middle outrigger levels 53-59 have 140 BRBs going in (20 between each floor). Only a few weeks away.

The core doesn't get smaller, just thinner walls. The steel slopes in on the West side about 45 feet from bottom to top. East side about 8 feet. Footprint is getting pretty small up there!

Thanks again SLJR for the updated info. Do you know the crane operator on the core. He posts pictures and videos from that perspective on instagram as Tower Guy.
