The Wachovia signage on 171 17th has come down in anticipation of the new Wells Fargo signs, and maybe they'll raise a big "W" on The Atlantic

Now, they just need to build another skyscraper in the last hole on 17th and TWELVE's view will be completely ruined!

FTC clears Coca-Cola's deal with bottler

Now just get 50 Allen Plaza built and move the new, bigger Coke across from the W Atlanta-Downtown.

Or...if Bank of America eventually leaves its building, as rumored (can't find that article now), Coke can move into a building that already looks like a Coke bottle

Another company looking to raise its profile with some skyscraper signage:

depending on which ceo you ask coke is not planning on keeping cce forever so coke might not need the space. Also cokes first offices were not far from where coke is now and their first offices were built more than 70 yrs ago theyre more likely to add to their current 2.3million sq/ft campus

a more likely option for 50 allen plaza is a mixed use project during the next
realestate bubble 10 yrs from now

Dome renovation = $400M, new stadium = $800M

"The Falcons want an open-air stadium as a replacement to the 18-year-old Georgia Dome, and they have a site in mind on property just north of the Georgia World Congress Center."

"In past interviews with Atlanta Business Chronicle, Falcons owner Arthur Blank and team President Rich McKay said a site at the corner of Simpson Street and Northside Drive fits the team’s priorities for an outdoor venue with tailgate-friendly parking they say will help improve the fan experience."

Wow, will it even fit HERE??

"In other sports news, Poe said the College Football Hall of Fame is considering a location on Marietta Street on a property known as the “Green Lot” near sports bar Stats and the Omni Hotel."

I'd be satisfied with Coke just buying naming rights to 50 Allen Plaza, unless Delta (or Southwest) is interested.

Post Properties CEO says REIT will reconsider mixed-use projects

With an eye on new development, Post Properties CEO Dave Stockert said today the REIT will concentrate on simpler developments as opposed to lagre-scale mixed-use projects. What does that mean for Post Allen Plaza?

things around town...

1)It looks like the facade of the new club next to 12th and Midtown is almost finished up. I drove by there last night.

2)Arden's Garden is moving into the backside retail space of the Margaret Mitchell Museum.

3)The building next to the Church on 5th st. is now gone. Hopefully it doesn't become a parking lot. I think we are set on those for a bit.

4)Javalords is moving in to the APEX Apartments building retail space on Huff Rd.

Is this a new location or a move from their location in L5P?

They erected a crane over in Sandy Springs last week. It's over off.......... well you can't miss it. Seems like a big deal ? They have cleared the land, dug deep, and closed that cut through street at 7000 Central Park. The six floor lowrise construction a few blocks north of that has been going on for several months and didn't even need a true tower crane. Does anyone one what is planned for this site. I drive by everyother day and they still havn't put out any signs for anything yet.

Came across this little gem when I was just browsing through the website of a firm that was working on the W Austin. It is the tower proposed in that last little hole in Atlantic Station, which I believe is next to the Atlantic.

Enjoy!

This seems very similar to something in that rich neighborhood up the Georgia 400...

I've seen this about 3 years ago. If I remember correctly, it is the lot
right across from the Wachovia building.

I like the building, but they won't sell another condo building at Atlantic Station until it cleans up its image.

Reminds me of the old days abundant with fresh renderings daily. Bobby will come out of retirement and get Chip a couple more rings before this goes through though. Nice find.
