what they hell? the original signs are way better. i prefer the look of the originals since it isn't so sterile and boring. plus 2x the size and more readable; talk about loosing readability. plus the exit signs and arrows are useful for people i think.

i don't understand this obsession we have with redoing all these signs. whats the point? who cares if its from the 80s. ITS A SIGN; they should see how often NYC changes their subway signage.

also, imgur, is so much better. i dont know why people use slow loading sites like that.

I don't understand why anyone uses photobucket anymore? Imgur is so easy and better to boot.

Bureaucracy has to justify its existence...Just count how many paint schemes have we gone through in the last 20 years...It's easy to do and highly visible...unlike for example important staff such as updating hardware that runs the SkyTrain system which is hard and nobody can see it.

Why is one end of Royal Oak behind Hoarding? I know they are paining, but why block the emergency exit?

Don't get me started on fare evaders. I had one lift his bike over the gate and then jump over the gate last night.

Pretty mad too when a couple of yahoos followed me through the gate the other night at Granville Station. Basically the gates closed on them but they still forced them open. These were well-built dudes not some pauper.

Some die-hard passengers would just refuse to pay fare even if the fare is only 50 cents.

I no longer see transit police doing fare check. I do see them quite often at Metrotown station monitoring passenger tap in/out.

You know, given the caliber of these people I don't think it would be a problem to either stop quickly so they run into you as a hint to wait their turn or just push them back and tell them off. I mean, they will get pissed with you but they know that they don't to make a scene.

Fare evaders can burn in hell. Hated them when i worked at the Canada Line and I hate them now as a semi regular transit user.

I know this is not on topic but for this one exception I feel inclined to comment on just how horrendous and sad this story is.

I hope both the woman and her friend both receive Manslaughter charges.

I've been fare checked on the train a few times in New West. Yay that the handheld reader can scan my card while it's still in the holder (I wear it on a lanyard).

Unfortunately, there are some crazy/dangerous people around here. People think that just because we are in Canada it's all milk and honey, but down on the street level that is not the case.

I would discourage folks from getting into confrontation with people over $3-4 fares as you never know who you are dealing with and how somebody can react out of anger. Just not worth it...There is a reason why we have 6'4'' armed cops walking around in pairs...

The only place I have been fare checked since the introduction of Compass is the SeaBus of all places...Late at night...And Everybody actually had a pass...

BTW, I've seen the same pair of cops watching the tap ins/outs at Metrotown from the mid-level platform overlooking the gates now for several days...Every time I come back from work they are there at their favorite spot watching...

I've seen them catch a few people using the wrong fare level (eg concession), this was done after people tapped out, for some reason they knew who to single out? Are the readers linked to the gates?
