South Philly’s former refinery site is the city’s next big job center. Can it avoid the Navy Yard’s mistakes?

Anyone have any knowledge as to what's taking so long with the Calder Sculpture Garden? They broke ground a year ago and but it basically still just looks like they're moving rocks around?

I recall there were major water and/or sewer lines running along the site that needed to be relocated in the early stages of the work.

Big delay securing financing in a challenging financing environment, and relocating utility lines. Back on track now though and full steam ahead.

Does anyone know why the street numbers go from 24th street on the West side of the Schuylkill to 30th street on the East? Where did 25-29 go?

Yeah, I get the River’s there but the numbers still don’t add up. By distance that should be 27th st. Go down on google maps and follow the streets up

Looking on google maps, down in grays ferry there's a 30th St but it doesn't line with up UC 30th St, I assume that has to do with land , and numbering.

However if you count the blocks from right across 30th St in CC you could technically reach 30th with half blocks.

That’s the crux of my question. Why don’t the streets line up. Any idea on why they’d switch to half-blocks for numbering across the river? I guess 27th street station wouldn’t sound quite as good

Schuylkill Avenue was originally 29th Street, as reflected on the signs hanging over the doors of 30th Street Station.

Amazing

I see why they made the change, and also in S Philly, by Grays Ferry there's also a Schuylkill Ave.

The city always tries to keep road names going on the other end, even if its a little out of wack lol.

Spark Innovation Center from yesterday. Say what you want about The Standard but it does a nice job of adding to the street wall.
