You're welcome Cal! I took a long drive this afternoon taking lots of pix...

488 University looks good so far... it should appear very sleek and modern when it's finished.

The entire roof has a metal gate fence surrounding the edges. I think it will be interesting watching the condo rise off the top of the old office building at least initially.

Not for long though. Telus Sky will be going in just off frame in the bottom right corner of that pic.

Centrium Place is there too.

Mondrian inspired has been overplayed and much better boutique/ midrise office buildings have been built across Canada since but, I still like that tower.

A lot of 1970s and 80s era concrete in that photo, but it also shows off the CBD's density. Also, there are a few gems in there: Canterra, Altius Centre, etc.

True. You can't see the best side (the cantilevers) from that angle though.

I never knew the Rogers building was called the Altius Centre. I've always liked that one. Canterra's always been one of my favourites. It gets no recognition though.

Canterra Tower has been one of my favorites since I first started looking at buildings across Canada when I was a kid. It's severely underrated, considering it's one of the top 50 tallest in the country.

Canterra is pretty popular among Calgary's forumers. How is it severely underrated?

No one outside Calgary would recognize it and even many Calgarians don't. I once had an argument with a classmate about Canterra being in Calgary as he did not recall ever seeing it. He swore the picture was from another city.

most older buildings aren't recognized by fan-i-tects outside of their home city. Interesting story about your classmate. It's definitely gets the respect it deserves by the Clagary forumers since I joined and the people in my circle in Calgary (well, that have some interest in buildings)
