Peter Busby, of architectural firm Perkins&Will, acknowledged in an email last week that he and the Crombie REIT team this year submitted another request to upzone the site.
“It is in the pipe. Higher density, taller towers. All rental now. More than 900 units,” Busby said. “Some are likely to be surprised by the density increase, but our sense is that some are realizing that this is an ideal location for dense, rental, transit-oriented development. Let’s hope.”
City of Vancouver officials also confirmed last week that “the city received an application for this site. However, the application is currently incomplete. The city has reached out to the applicant on next steps.”
