Is there anything proposed for that parking lot in the background?

Just as an opinion, I'd say that while there not be anything immediate, something is bound to come along in a year ot two.
That space is ripe for redevelopment, not only because it's "just there," but because that strip of Georgia east of Seymour is rather bleak, and ugly.
Also having the TELUS complex one one side of it, and that unusual, "green" 410 Georgia building on the other, is an impetus to put something hopefully classy in between.
Let's keep our hopes up. That sort of 'Seymour' cut-off line' to anything east is very noticeable, and Georgia, east of that, is not at all visually appealing.

Not yet, although there are rumours of another office tower.

It's owned by Austivelle properties and there is an office tower in the works. Similar in height/size to 410 West Georgia.

I think you mean virtually identical, as mandated by city council's viewcone restrictions, which cut a vast swath through this area of downtown.

Sure, identical in height, similar in size.

Does anyone know what they're doing with the Atrium at 401 W. Georgia? Why are they redoing it?

This one is interesting to watch, because a lot of the structure will be steel, it's the core that's rising first,
rather than the whole-floor rising together.

Pic by me today - they were removing the H-frame utility pole in the alley behind.
