Yeah I know, that's why I said that it was a backward view of the Site O rendering. Just not doable to flip the image using MS Office.

But the scale, location, and overall bulk of the building should be pretty comparable. So if you're driving up LSD, it could possibly look like 3 buildings.

Site O is the site next to Aqua, ps. Not this site. This is like sites J and H or something.

Reuters has an article saying that Wanda plans 150 hotels by 2018 and that they are raising 6bn to finance them. So I guess that's confirming that Spyguy is right about the construction timeframe.

The hotel brand is "Wanda Vista"

That is true. Along with plans in numerous Chinese Cities such as Beijing, Dalian, Shenzhen, and Shanghai, they also plan to have projects in the Middle East, and numerous U.S. cities such as good old Chicago, NYC, San Francisco, and a couple more. Hoping the NYC one is a supertall. In terms of the project schedule, he is most likely correct. They have a track record of getting stuff done when they say they will.

Im sorry Chicago but that design is horrible...its disproportionate, awkward and down right gimicky. I Think Chicago deserves a design with real class and elegance. Think Shenzhen....Shanghai....designs.

I thought the exact same thing the very first time I saw the design. It was a while after, upon seeing Ryan81's Google sketch, that I started warming up to it. However, I'm still not 100% sure about design until I see more refined renders. For me, I think the current color scheme is one of the main things that I don't like.

I wish there was a way to access wandavista.com. To bad the website doesn't work. This rendering is very strange though, it's from an official wanda website, and the surrounding buildings aren't flipped. I wish Wanda wasn't so shady......

I just tried layering this presumably new rendering over the older one in ps.

The angle of this new rendering is just a bit different then the older one. So this is something more then just a photoshop reworking of the blue render.

It also means that I can't figure out if this silver version is the same height or shorter. It depends on what assumptions you make with the slightly different angles. A more complex photogrammic analysis could do it, but without having a view of the full building this is hard.

If you compare the middle section you can see the height difference between the renderings. This is definitely a different render, the tall section is a lot more visible in the new version than the old version. I remember when this first came out people thought this looked short, so who knows! Maybe this is the version that is 350 meters.

Chicago officials are expected to announce this week that a Chinese developer is moving ahead with plans for an 89-story riverfront residential and hotel tower, to be designed by Chicago architect Jeanne Gang, according to sources close to the deal.

Beijing-based Wanda Group reportedly plans to invest $900 million in the project, which is likely to house an ultra-luxurious hotel, insiders say. For Chicagoans, it is the splashiest of deals being highlighted this week as U.S.-China trade talks get started here.

The project is expected to have an unusual profile — three interlocking, zigzagging high-rises, according to conceptual designs from the developer. At this point the entire cost of the project is not known.
