It's true. This whole block is just so sad. We're never going to be able to fix this mistake but I hope we might learn from this mistake and update our official plan to move to an approach with minimum tower separation requirements.

As of today, Claridge Royale is 66% sold out (157/237).

Pricing for remaining units start at $346,000 for a “modified” Jewel floorplan - 490sqft studio unit on the 2nd floor. The most expensive unit remaining for purchase is the Paramount floorplan - 980sqft two bedroom two bathroom unit on the top floor (26 or PH2), priced at $978,000.

The building average price per sqft for all units combined is $776sqft, with the lowest unit priced at $678sqft (Plush floorplan 645sqft on the 3rd floor).

They are now starting formwork on the second floor of the podium. This building is a massive footprint so it's not surprising its taking a while to build up.

I highly suspect this will be built in the same way as Claridge Moon and we will see all 3 towers more or less rise at the same time. If not 3 then 2 for sure.

The MASSIVE podium is moving along. Off the top of my head I forget what the podium height is but the towers should start climbing in the new year.

Fingers crossed for all 3 to rock and roll at the same time. Cant imagine why it wouldn't.

About 2 years ago (right before Covid) I was told by Claridge that the hotel building would be completed first, then the student building, and lastly the condo.

Maybe Covid changed their plan, or they realized building all at the same time is more efficient, or they were just referring to the internal portion...

there is no more hotel. So the plan has definitely change

Shouldn't they have started selling units if it's truly becoming a residential? It's only two years away from completion...

The joke is they're 2 different Claridge projects but basically look exactly the same. Similar massing, tower heights, design and same materials/colours.
And both will look equally bad when completed...

I'm so tired of seeing the same designs and projects go up everywhere. Is good quality, unique designs too much to ask?

They aren't, they are just like Trinity Rideau & Chapel and a hundred other projects going up or proposed in this city. Get used to this aesthetic, I will soon the be ubiquitous in Ottawa.

At least they are at two different ends of downtown? Moon is turning out to be a high quality, if quite plain, filler. project Far better than Trinity's Rideau+Chapel. What a disappointment.
