Yeah, kind of like The Brookwood, minus the red brick.

is that a good thing? i mean, it's beautiful, but the first thing i think of when i think buckhead is "exclusive". to see stuff like this for the super elite rise up in the middle of what used to be the queerest counterculture community in the southeast really stings. i really wish we could get some more differentiation between the styles and types of development between midtown and buckhead, in addition to mandated affordable housing, because even though all of this development is fantastic, midtown is only getting richer and whiter. it is a terrible shame that all this great new development is coming at a cost of losing the culture and people that make midtown what it is.

Midtown is one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the city. What's a shame is your bigotry.

I agree that it does look similar to The Brookwood which was also designed by RJTR but this style is not limited to the Brookwood neighborhood. It also reminiscent of Astoria because of the color of the brick.

A few updates

New renderings...

Alexan EAV (formerly Alexan Village Flats)This brings to mind the comment by the Jamestown executive that its too easy to build junk in this city.

Alexan Glenwood

Added a webcam for the GSU dorms. Even though its almost finished at this point, its interesting to see the time-lapse of a precast concrete building being assembled which I've never seen before. http://oxblue.com/open/corvias/gsuhousing

There's a townhome development with 38 units that's currently under construction in O4W that I don't see on the list. It's at Felton and Angier. I can't find a website or renderings, but Curbed did an article about the site plan back on Dec 31 2014 with the headline, "Coming Soon: O4W Townhomes WEST of Boulevard."

I called the number on the sign at the property and found out that they go on the market in the next week or so for the low 500s. It's a gated community and it'll have a pool.

Anybody have any knowledge about the parcels involved in the 195 13th Street development? I'm sure they're joining adjacent parcels. Asking because I need to know if I need to start looking for new digs. (I'm sure I do.)

This proposal involves all 3 parcels between Yoo on the Park and Park Central. They seem to be early in the development process so it will likely still be a while before this moves forward.

Thank you, smArTaLlone. I'm sure it'll be a while, but I like to have my ducks in a row when the time does come.

Is the new development going to block your view?

I assume they're in one of the buildings that may be torn down.

Yeah, I'm in one of the buildings. Not the nicest in Midtown, but it's more than adequate. I really don't want to move, but c'est la vie!

The only time I take a pause at developments in midtown is when they take down older apartments like that. I lived in one when I was in midtown, til last summer, and they allow for younger people and people that can't afford to live in a highrise to still live in midtown. Luckily the one I was in was east of Piedmont, so no real incentive to take it down. Sad to see others like mine go before empty lots are gone, but happy development is coming...
