The oak and hickory buds are opening. Pretty interesting because each bud contains many leaves, I will update again when they are further along and show the full sequence.

Not in my experience, at least We don't really have a lot of rednecks like mainlanders mean. Skeets are the lowest class here, and that's a more urban thing - kind of closer to a chav. Closest thing to rednecks we have are aggressively bay (rural) b'ys with their Fox Racing jackets and skidoos and white sunglasses; or actual people back from Alberta that say with a straight face Fort Mac or Grande Prairie has more to do. But they're a small minority. Our skeets are more track suits, thick accents, baseball caps, gold chains, knives, bumming cigarettes, big struts when walking, "goof" is the worst thing you can call them. And then within that, these days, opioid zombies.

The sun came out so I went for an hour neighborhood walk, checking out some ugly new homes replacing 120 year old red brick beauties. I need a new cheap phone soon: maybe the Samsung Galaxy A15 5g, anyone else using it?

Imgur suddenly died on me so I'm trying to figure out alternatives: on mobile haven't figured out how to get the full size image up.

7C and overcast early this afternoon. Crappy. But then it got crappier later in the afternoon. Rain, wind, dark and a cold 5C. Stopped raining now and it is actually milder (back to 7C).

It was 10C at midnight.

The warmspot was Windsor, ON at 21.9C.

Warmest low was Harrow, ON at 13.5C.

Harrow was not able to hold into its 16.5C low, officially fell to 14.5C. So the record the warmest low this year remain at 15.4C (at Harrow the previous day)

It's finally switched to just fog for long enough that the ground is dry. I COULD try my mulcher today but I'm holding off as it's just a little too late in the day for me to get started on that kind of thing.

Wonderful pics of Kelowna!

Yeah, the last week has been cool in BC I have seen, but the next few days will be around 20 in Kelowna.

15C and nice sunny breaks this afternoon. Still below normal.

Low of 6C last night. Actually had some drizzle this morning but thankfully only for about 10-15 min.

The warmspot was Sarnia, ON at 27.7C. New high this year.

Warmest low was Trenton, ON at 8.6C

April mean temperature was 7.5C for Montreal. A bit above normal but not by much.

That’s got to be a little rare for Southern Ontario to have a high of 27.7 today but no low above 8.6…

The lakes are still very cold, especially Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, which are still less than 5 degrees

Here it was was 24.9 with a low of 8.6 and no clouds. The previous four lows were over 10

6C and partly cloudy in Moncton at 10 AM, only getting as warm as 9C this afternoon.

We seem to be stuck in a northerly outflow, which given Moncton's location means we are getting sideswiped by winds off the Gulf of St. Lawrence, suppressing temperatures. Charlottetown, which is even more in the crosshairs than us will only get up to 6C this afternoon.

On the bright side, the forecast is for 20C on Sunday. This will be our first 20C high of the season.

Southwestern Ontario already hitting the peak summer temp of St. John's is a depressing realization.
