That's not what's in use at Canad Inns Stadium, is it? (Sorry, never been there!) The only troughs I've seen was in the men's room in one of Regina Ex's old, old display buildings, which was still in use up until a few (5? 8? ??!!...) years ago! They should have closed down that one decades ago!

The stadium is looking good!

I know it's not a good angle, but there haven't been any updates in a while, so I thought I'd post this. Taken by a friend attending the University of Manitoba.

It's official ladies and gentlemen. Sadly, there will be no trough. I am guessing it has something to do with our current health and safety/sanitation regulations. I for one, will miss it.

i hope there are 500 more urinals along that wall not shown in the photo.

i still hate that roof...so ham fisted....could have been a really elegant feature..as it is it is typical ray way clunky design, lifted form a magazine and interpreted with the finesse of a hippo in ballet shoes.

the way it comes down on a column at the end is hilarious...remember the HOK design for the polo park site...that had some elegance to it.

i wish it just followed the arch of the supports above...the wiggle is so lame.

I was in that washroom. That picture doesn't lie. To save money, that urinal on the right is actually only half a urinal. That is one of the larger 2 1/2 urinal washrooms in the stadium.

Exposed vertical ventilation duct? The hvac looks like it was a bit of an after thought. I assume it will be covered and tiled eventually?

No thats for heating, on cold game days, we shall huddle around the duct for warmth.

Went into the grounds last weekend to have a drive by - as a football seasonticket holder, am very excited; as a architecture-head, less so.

Saw it from the air last week; looks spectacular all lit up at night.

Hard to beat a dead horse but man the Buchko led Blue Bombers were still sticking to the script back in May claiming the first game would be on July 26, right now the turf isn't even in and there still a long way from completion (looking at the latest photos from the Blue Bomber site). Wouldn't be surprised if they are still working on it this spring. End of rant.

That's what I was wondering-How were they saying they were almost done when even now they're not even close?

In a Business Update from Churchill Corporation (Stuart Olson Dominion's parent company), they say that they're going to hand the stadium over in November...and report a $3.5M loss on the project in Q3.

Quote:
The Investor's Group Field project is scheduled for substantial completion and handover to the Blue Bombers in November 2012. Churchill has booked an additional loss of $3.5 million on the project during the third quarter.

Could not agree with you more! It is such an imposing structure, all the more reason for at least little elegance and subtlety in the lines. FAIL

I'd rather us fans be LOUD and dry than worry about the way the canopy looks!

As they say about the Montparnasse tower, when we're in it, we won't be looking at it
